Dr. Qian’s research interest covers regional climate modeling, aerosol-climate interaction, snow and ice impurities and their climatic impacts, aerosols sub-grid variability quantification and parameterization, hydrology-land-atmosphere interactions, and uncertainty Quantification in climate modeling. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and more than 100 conference papers. His research has generated tremendous impacts among the scientific community and public, and is prominently featured by the New York Times, Nature, New Scientist, BBC, China Daily, People's Daily, C&E News, National Public Radio, and ABC News and many other news media.
