应高寒生态学与生物多样性重点实验室朴世龙研究员邀请,美国劳伦斯伯克利国家实验室 Yuxin Wu 博士将前来青藏所交流并做学术报告。 题 目:Multiscale investigation of key below ground hydrobiogeochemical properties and processes and their impacts on GHG fluxes in arctic permafrost 报告人:Yuxin Wu 博士 主持人:朴世龙 研究员 时 间:2015年3月16日(星期一)10:00-12:00 地 点:青藏高原研究所915会议室 报告人简介: Yuxin Wu is currently a geological research scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He received his Bachelor’s degree in petrology, mineralogy and geochemistry and Master’s degree in Environmental sciences from Peking University, and PhD in Geophysics from Rutgers University. 报告简介: Greenhouse gas release from permafrost thawing is one of the largest uncertainties in future climate prediction. Improving such prediction relies on a better representation of the interactions between hydrological, geochemical and microbial processes in the Arctic ecosystem that occur over a wide range of space and time scales and how they are linked with GHG flux dynamics above ground under dynamic freeze-thaw conditions. As part of the Next Generation Ecosystem Experiments in the Arctic (NGEE-Arctic), extensive studies have been conducted to characterize the permafrost region in our research site in Barrow, AK and to study below ground hydrological and biogeochemical properties and processes that are closely linked with above ground GHG fluxes. This presentation will give a summary review of the study they have conducted at Barrow, AK within the NGEE-Arctic program funded by U.S. Department of Energy and how that could be linked with similar studies elsewhere, such as those ongoing in the mountain permafrost on the Tibetan Plateau. 欢迎各位老师和同学参加! 高寒生态学与生物多样性重点实验室 |
