　　报告人简介：Colin Prentice holds the AXA Chair in Biosphere and Climate Impacts at the Department of Life Sciences and Grantham Institute for Climate Change, Imperial College London. He has previously been Professor of Plant Ecology at the University of Lund, Director of the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry, Professor of Earth System Science at the University of Bristol, Leader of NERC’s research programm Quantifying and Understanding the Earth System (QUEST), and a Professor in Ecology and Evolution at Macquarie University, Sydney where he maintains a part-time affiliation. Professor Prentice has been involved in research into large-scale relationships and interactions between the biosphere and the physical environment for over 30 years. He was the co-ordinating lead author for the carbon cycle chapter in the Third Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) assessment report. He is a Highly Cited Author and a recipient of the Milankovitch Medal of the European Geophysical Society for his work on biosphere-atmosphere interactions. His current research focuses on the identification of predictable quantitative behaviours of key plant processes based on economic theory, and the applications of these findings to develop more robust models for the impacts of global environmental change on ecosystems, crops and the hydrological cycle.
