This is a part of an international collaborative effort involving scientists from the US, China and Sweden focusing on glacial histories, climatic variations and landscape development in the Northern Swedish Mountains, the Tibetan Plateau and the Tian Shan Mountains, China. Land use change and its environmental and hydrological impacts: Human impacts on soil erosion and surface runoff driven by land use change and/or urbanization; Assessing the impacts of urbanization on surface runoff and water quality using RS and GIS techniques and hydrological modeling. GIS and spatial analysis: Applications of GIS to resolve various geographic and environmental issues including identification of spatial and temporal patterns of geographic and environmental features; data uncertainty and multiple source data integration; and digital city and integration of GIS with e-government systems.
