简介: Massimo Menenti, Full Professor Optical and Laser Remote Sensing Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at the Delft University of Technology. Coordinator of Coordinated Asia-European long-term Observing system of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau hydro-meteorological processes and the Asian-monsoon system with Ground satellite image data and numerical simulations (CEOP AEGIS). 2006 Honorary Research Professor, Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research (ITP). 2011 Visiting Professorship for Senior International Scientists, Chinese Academy of Science. His Principal research themes and expertise: Earth Observation (land); hydrology; hydro-meteorology.
摘要: Time series of hydrological observations of all terms of the terrestrial water balance have been generated using a very broad suite of satellite data, combining active and passive measurements across the entire EM spectrum. Each data product has been evaluated against ground measurements, then used as input for a hydrological model over a domain including the entire Plateau and the headwaters of all the major rivers of South and East Asia at a 5 km x 5 km spatial resolution. The calculation of daily river flows over the entire domain proved very useful towards identifying inconsistencies in the satellite data products and lead to further improvements. The same data were used to evaluate the linkages between large area patterns in surface wet-dry conditions in relation with convective processes and regional atmospheric circulation.
